Experience the soil

Despite all the advances of human civilisation, our survival depends on about 50cm of soil and regular rainfall (quote: Paul Harvey). For being so important for food, carbon storage, regulating water in urban areas and biodiversity, we do not know it well! Moreover, we do not treat this precious resource very well in industialised agriculture, through sealing of land and changes in land use. In this workshop we will learn about the mineral and living parts of the soil, we will analyse different soil samples, we will learn which food crops need which soil and how to easily improve the quality of the soil.
